7-Day Mainland Greece Road Trip: The Classical Journey

Day 1: Arrival in Athens & Ancient Wonders
Upon arrival at Athens International Airport (ATH), pick up your rental car. While many guides suggest
immediate departure from Athens, spending the first day acclimatizing and exploring the capital's core
is highly recommended, especially after a long flight.
Morning/Afternoon: Head directly to your accommodation in Athens. After settling in, begin your exploration with the Acropolis, home to the majestic Parthenon, the Erechtheion, and the Propylaea. The Acropolis is best visited early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and intense heat.
Late Afternoon/Evening: Descend from the Acropolis to explore the Acropolis Museum, which houses artifacts found on the Acropolis rock, offering deeper insights into ancient Athenian life and religious practices.
